It can be difficult to find a solid PlayStation 5 headset that ticks off all boxes. Some are comfortable but fail to deliver the full audio quality you’d want, while others have a great microphone but underwhelm elsewhere. Luckily, the Razer Kaira Pro Hyperspeed headset checks all the boxes and delivers a high-quality experience, especially on PlayStation 5.

The Kaira Pro Hyperspeed makes a great first impression. Setting it up with your PlayStation 5 is extremely simple, as you simply plug in the USB-C dongle and turn the headset on. Thanks to a reliable 2.4GHz wireless connection, you won’t have any drops or latency issues. It also offers Bluetooth connections for mobile devices and other uses, which is also not complicated to set up. No matter how you want to use the headset, it’s easy to get going and experience great audio.

Of course, what really makes the headset something special is the audio quality and comfort. The headset supports PlayStation’s Tempest 3D audio, and the 50mm titanium audio driver inside gives incredible surround sound. There are a number of built-in sound profiles, such as an FPS mode that caters to being able to hear the footsteps of other players. No matter if your needs are recreational or competitive, Razer has you covered with this impressive headset.

What’s most exciting, though, is the built-in haptics technology that Razer calls HyperSense. This reads audio signals to help produce haptic feedback for every game you play. This type of haptic feedback has been why I’ve loved playing PlayStation VR2, and to get it on regular console games is a joy. You truly get to feel when you’re dishing out special moves in Mortal Kombat 1 or delivering a kill in a shooter, and it makes gaming all the more exciting.

As for the microphone quality, there is a built-in microphone that sounds fine and gets the job done when making a phone call or chatting with a friend, but there’s also a detachable Hyperclear Supercardioid microphone that delivers high-quality audio and suppresses unwanted noise. The choice is yours, and it works fantastic either way. You can even listen to your own audio if you want to test it or prefer hearing your surroundings as well.

Battery life is always important for a headset, and thankfully, the Razer Kaira Pro Hyperspeed delivers there as well. If you turn off the chroma lighting and haptics, then you’ll get around 30 hours, although if you are going full blast, it is up to 11 hours. I usually turn the chroma off on a headset since you can’t see it while wearing it, and it managed to deliver great quality sound during my longer gaming sessions within a single charge.

It’s also worth mentioning that the Hyperspeed is compatible with the Razer audio app. This is where you can easily turn off features, such as the chroma lighting, and manage the headset. The app also works with your other Razer audio devices, so it’s nice to be able to manage all of them within one space.

Razer Kaira Pro Hyperspeed Review: Final Verdict

The Razer Kaira Pro Hyperspeed headset is an incredible PlayStation 5 headset that delivers great audio and real thrills thanks to its haptic feedback and low-latency performance. As with the Razer Wolverine V2 Pro, it’s clear that the battery length is just as important as quality and performance for the company. No corners have been cut and you can’t go wrong with this premium gaming headset.
