Paramount Plus‘ new TV and movie releases for March 18-24 2024 include only two releases, Todd Haynes’ historical romance film Carol and the fourth season of The Last Cowboy.
On March 19, subscribers and viewers of Paramount Plus can tune in to watch Todd Haynes’ Carol. It is a historical romance film, the screenplay of which is based on the 1952 romance novel The Price of Salt by Patricia Highsmith. The novel was republished in 1990. The film stars Cate Blanchett and Rooney Mara and is set in New York during the early 1950s. The story follows a forbidden romantic affair between an aspiring female photographer (Mara) and an older woman (Blanchett) who is going through a difficult divorce. Other cast members include Sarah Paulson, Jake Lacy, John Magaro, Cory Michael Smith, Carrie Brownstein, and Kyle Chandler.
Then on March 20, the fourth season of The Last Cowboy hits Paramount Plus as the second and final release of the week. The Last Cowboy is a documentary-competition series created by Taylor Sheridan. This show closely follows the elite Western horse-riding competition of horse reining. In this competition, eight men and women compete against each other as they guide their horses through a precise pattern of circles, stops, and spins. The Last Cowboy not only follows the competition but also chronicles the lives of the horsemen as they train and make preparations for the closing event of the series and fight to be the champion that takes home the prize money of $1 million.
