Superman Toys Offer New Looks at Mysterious Baby Character, Metamorpho, & More

New Superman figures from McFarlane Toys have been unveiled.

Superman flies into United States theaters this coming July. Written and directed by James Gunn, the DCU movie stars David Corenswet as the titular Man of Steel while Rachel Brosnahan plays Lois Lane.

Baby Joey is perhaps the most interesting reveal, as it was unknown that the character would appear in the movie until Spin Master released a Luthorcorp Lab toy set earlier this month. The popular theory online is that Baby Joe is Rex Mason/Metamorpho’s son, Joseph Mason, though this has not been officially confirmed at this time.

“Superman, DC Studios’ first feature film to hit the big screen, is set to soar into theaters worldwide this summer from Warner Bros. Pictures,” the official synopsis for the movie reads. “In his signature style, James Gunn takes on the original superhero in the newly imagined DC universe with a singular blend of epic action, humor, and heart, delivering a Superman who’s driven by compassion and an inherent belief in the goodness of humankind.”

In addition to Corenswet and Brosnahan, Superman stars Anthony Carrigan as Metamorpho, Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, Edi Gathegi as Mister Terrific, Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner, Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, Pruitt Taylor Vince as Jonathan Kent, Neva Howell as Martha Kent, Wendell Pierce as Perry White, Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen, Beck Bennett as Steve Lombard, Mikaela Hoover as Cat Grant, Christopher McDonald as Ron Troupe, Sara Sampaio as Eve Teschmacher, Terence Rosmmore as Otis, Frank Grillo as Rick Flag Sr., and María Gabriela de Faría as Angela Spica/The Engineer.

Superman will be released in United States theaters and IMAX on July 11, 2025, from Warner Bros. Pictures.
