The 26-year-old singer recently released a teaser for her new single, “Manchild.”
The teaser released on Instagram shows Sabrina Carpenter clad in a white shirt and cropped denim jeans. Standing on the roadside, she tries to hitchhike on various vehicles passing by her to no avail. At the conclusion of the video, she said, “Oh boy.”
Carpenter then uploaded a poster captioned, “This one’s about you!!” She has used it as her digital profile picture.

Meanwhile, the vinyl edition of the single includes a lyrical excerpt. It reads, “Inside of your head when you’ve just won an argument with a man.”
Following the release of the poster and teaser, fans took to the aforementioned Instagram post’s comments section to speculate that the single “Manchild” is about Barry Keoghan. GET HIM SAB,” one fan wrote.
Moreover, another fan commented, “We owe Barry a big thank you for the song of the summer.” Yet another user wrote, “DRAG HIM BABE WE CAN’T WAIT.” Additionally, another fan remarked that Keoghan “deserves the song” as he did not listen to Carpenter when she wrote “Please, Please, Please.”
Sabrina Carpenter and Barry Keoghan ended their year-long romance in December 2024. According to People, who had learned of the breakup from one of their insiders, the singer and the Saltburn actor “decided to take a break” as they were “both young and career-focused.”
Following their breakup, Keoghan had deactivated his Instagram account. He explained his decision in a statement published on X (Twitter), stating his name was “dragged across the internet in ways” he typically did not respond to. Keoghan also said that “too many lines” were “crossed” and that he could not let the immense criticism “distract from” his “family and work.”
Meanwhile, Sabrina Carpenter has yet to comment on whether her latest single is about her former boyfriend.
