Mahershala Ali has yet to physically appear as Blade in any MCU film, but the star’s next appearance may have been spoiled by some upcoming figures coming out.
What is Mahershala Ali’s new Blade figure?
Recently, Funko unveiled its upcoming line of Funko Pops for Marvel Studio’s animated series Marvel Zombies, which is set to release on Disney+ on October 3, 2025. Amongst the figures, which include characters like undead Hawkeye and Captain America, Ali’s Blade, dubbed “Blade Knight,” is shown.
The character is seen in a fully black, white, and silver suit, with his mouth covered. The figure is also wielding a sword and spike, iconic items Blade is usually seen with. Check out the figures below:
Assuming Blade does appear in the upcoming Marvel Zombies, it will technically be Ali’s second appearance as the character. He previously had a voice cameo at the end of 2021’s Eternals, which was initially set to be a teasing introduction for his role in the MCU.

However, in the years since Ali was announced to be playing Blade in 2019, a movie starring Ali has yet to materialize. The film has largely been in production limbo over the past six years, with various iterations apparently being worked on.
Recently, Marvel was said to have “cracked” an idea for the movie. Ali himself is still attached to the role, but has been more or less dismissive of giving any updates when asked. Throughout its development, directors Bassam Tariq and Yann Demange were previously attached to the movie, along with writers Stacy Osei-Kuffour, Beau DeMayo, Michael Starrbury, Michael Green, and Eric Pearson.
It’s unclear who is attached to the project now in a writing and directing capacity, or if any of the film’s originally reported cast (including Mia Goth) remain involved in the project.
