Days of Our Lives adds Tyler Joseph Andrews as Theo Carver in major recast
The actor will step into the role as the son of Abe Carver, previously portrayed by Cameron Johnson, Kyler Pettis, and Terrell Ransom Jr. Andrews marks a new chapter for the long-running character, who has been part of Salem since his on-screen birth in 2003.
Theo Carver last appeared in August 2023 when he visited his father during the amnesia storyline. In July 2025, he called Abe to share that his relationship with Claire Brady had come to an end. The call created a turning point and set the stage for his return to Salem after a long absence.
When will Tyler Joseph Andrews debut as Theo Carver on Days of Our Lives?
Tyler Joseph Andrews will make his first appearance as Theo Carver on Tuesday, September 9, 2025. This marks his daytime debut after previously appearing in short films and movies such as V/H/S/Beyond, The Christmas Chain, and A Heart Full of Hope.
Writers have recast Theo several times. Terrell Ransom Jr. portrayed him from 2008 to 2015, and Kyler Pettis took over the aged-up role until 2018. Cameron Johnson assumed the part in 2020 and continued through 2023. In 2021, Theo pursued a complicated romance with Ciara Brady, but she regained her memories of Ben Weston, which prompted Theo to leave for South Africa. Claire Brady later followed him overseas after accepting a job.
Now that Andrews takes over, Theo returns to Salem single after his breakup with Claire. His reintroduction sets up new storylines for Abe’s family and the larger canvas of Days of Our Lives.
The September 9 episode will mark the start of Andrews’s run as he joins the cast of the Peacock streaming soap.
