The latest Peacemaker episode features a surprise return, and in a recent video, John Cena recently opened up about what it means for him to be back.
What did John Cena say about Peacemaker Season 2’s shocking moment?
In the latest episode of Peacemaker, an alternate universe version of Rick Flag Jr. (played once again by Joel Kinnaman) is introduced after Cena’s character travels through the QUC (Quantum Unfolding Chamber). In the latest episode of the show’s companion podcast, Cena opened up about how awesome it was to work with Kinnaman again.
“Joel gets to do some stuff you don’t normally see him do, which is great,” Cena said. “It was great working with him again. It was great seeing him again. Gosh, I couldn’t be more grateful for all we did in The Suicide Squad, and literally the fight that made this show.”
When it came to Kinnaman’s return as Flag, Cena also said it was nice to show off a different side of Kinnaman as an actor, who plays a much different version of Flag than we’ve seen in the world of DC film.
Peacemaker Season 2 will largely follow the continued adventures of the character, played by John Cena. However, the trailer for the HBO series did tease Peacemaker finding a new dimension in which he is actually a beloved hero.
Alongside Cena, Peacemaker Season 2 will star Frank Grillo as Rick Flag Sr., Tim Meadows as Langston Fleury, Michael Rooker as Red St. Wiold, Danielle Brooks as Leota Adebayo, Freddie Stroma as Adrian Chase/Vigilante, Jennifer Holland as Emilia Harcourt, Steve Agee as John Economos, Isabela Merced as Kendra Saunders/Hawkgirl, Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner/Green Lantern, Sean Gunn as Maxwell Lord, and more.
Peacemaker Season 2 is currently airing on HBO and streaming on HBO Max. The first season and The Suicide Squad are also available to watch on the streaming platform.
