The cast of Prime Video’s The Boys spin-off Gen V has responded to the streamer’s recent decision regarding the show’s future. The series stars shared heartfelt messages with fans following the announcement that arrived earlier this week.
Jaz Sinclair and others react to Gen V cancellation
The cast of Gen V has reacted to the cancellation of the Prime Video spin-off of The Boys after two seasons. Star Jaz Sinclair, who portrayed Marie Moreau, shared a message on her Instagram Story addressing fans of the cancelled show.
“There’s so much I wanna (and will) say, but for today I just want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart,” Sinclair wrote. “I’m so happy you’re here and I’m so grateful for this incredible experience.”
London Thor, who played gender-shifting Jordan alongside Derek Luh, also shared a response on Instagram. “This show changed my life. So long Jordan. Thank you for everything,” Thor wrote.
Maddie Phillips, who portrayed mind controller Cate Dunlap, posted a behind-the-scenes video with the caption, “Live laugh love, later !!! <3”
The cancellation arrived six months after the Season 2 finale aired. Sinclair, Thor, and other Gen V stars have recently appeared in the fifth and final season of the parent series, The Boys.
In a joint statement, Vought Cinematic Universe (VCU) executive producers Eric Kripke and Evan Goldberg addressed the cancellation. “While we wish we could keep the party going another season at Godolkin, we’re committed to continuing the Gen V characters’ stories in The Boys Season 5 and other VCU projects on the horizon. You’ll see them again,” they said.
Gen V premiered on Prime Video in September 2023 as a spin-off of The Boys. The show was loosely based on the “We Gotta Go Now” comic book story arc by Garth Ennis, Darick Robertson, and John Higgins.
Prime Video has confirmed prequel series Vought Rising will premiere in 2027. Another spin-off, The Boys: Mexico, remains in active development from writer Gareth Dunnet-Alcocer and executive producers Diego Luna and Gael GarcÃa Bernal.
