ComingSoon is debuting an exclusive trailer for Master of the Universe. The Asylum‘s newest sci-fi action mockbuster will be available to rent or own on digital platforms starting on May 22.
“A young man must use his untapped powers to fight back against an evil alien and their army, who will stop at nothing to take over Earth and then the universe,” reads the official synopsis.

What happens in the Master of the Universe trailer?
The video introduces a young man with the powers to save the Earth from an evil alien army planning to invade the planet. He must assemble a team of powerful warriors who will help him in his dangerous mission. The trailer also highlights some of the mockbuster’s action-packed sequences.
Master of the Universe is a parody of Amazon MGM Studios’ upcoming live-action adaptation of Mattel’s Masters of the Universe, which will arrive in theaters on June 5. The mockbuster is directed by Marcel Walz, with Marc Gottlieb writing the script. The cast includes Matthew Gademski, Morgan Flanagan, Jay F. Krymis, Antonio Valles, and Telisha Johnson. Walz recently released the survival creature feature Shark Thrash with The Asylum. Walz has directed several mockbusters, including Jurassic Reborn and The Anacondas.
The movie hails from The Asylum, the production company best known for hit mockbusters like the Sharknado movies, Z Nation, Ape vs. Monster, Morgan: Killer Doll, Evil Nun, and more. It’s also the production studio behind Netflix’s hit apocalyptic thriller series Black Summer, which lasted for two seasons from 2019 to 2021.
