Reacher star Alan Ritchson has shared a troubling update about Fast Forever. The Fast X actor recently sat down for a conversation with Josh Horowitz on the Happy Sad Confused podcast. There, he spoke about the sequel to Fast X, stating that the movie is “expensive to make.”
When asked about the updates on the Fast Forever movie, the actor stated, “It’s too expensive — it doesn’t make a ton of sense. There’s a more efficient way to shoot those.”
The star added, “There has to be a way to show restraint while also honoring the fact that this world has expanded to something humongous. That gets very difficult; now we’re at the crossroads of something very hard to figure out. Everybody’s figuring it out. But I think there’s going to be another one, I think it’s going to be great. It’s just a matter of solving some big problems, some very real problems.”
The Fast X star also revealed that the crew had talks about the sequel all the time, adding, “There’s a lot of obstacles.” Before this statement, the action star and host also discussed Vin Diesel’s update and called him the “key manifester” for the films. Last year, the Fast & Furious veteran gave fans another major update about a character returning to the franchise.
What has Vin Diesel previously teased about Fast Forever’s story?
During the FuelFest event last year, Diesel shocked the audience and fans by sharing that Brian O’Conner, played by the late Paul Walker, could return in the movie.
However, he did not state whether his appearance would be in a flashback or otherwise. No updates have been put out since then regarding this teaser.
Additionally, he recently posted a picture of himself with the actor Jason Momoa, who was cast as the main villain in Fast X. This update excited fans because it was part of Diesel’s Creative Sunday post, where he shares snippets of what he is currently working on.
As of now, Fast Forever is in the early stages of production. The movie is slated to return to the big screen on March 17, 2028.
