It was a sad day saying goodbye to the Dunder Mifflin team in The Office series finale. Fortunately, Peacock is producing a follow-up series titled The Paper set in the world of the NBC series. Compared to originally releasing new episodes weekly, The Office spin-off is getting an exciting release date change.
The original Steve Carell-led series may have had a documentary crew following a paper company. But this time around, we’ll see a company that knows exactly what to do with paper. The Paper, a spin-off series on Peacock, follows the Dunder Mifflin documentary crew as they film the Toledo Truth-Teller, a struggling Midwestern newspaper.
A lot of new faces to the world of The Office headline the mockuseries, like About Time’s Domhnall Gleeson, The White Lotus’ Sabrina Impacciatore, American Vandal’s Melvin Gregg, and more. The only returning cast member from The Office coming to The Paper is Oscar Nunez, who played Chief Accountant Oscar Martinez.
When will The Paper be released?
Originally, new episodes of The Paper were going to roll out in the course of four weeks. The first four episodes were to premiere on September 4th, with two episodes released each week until September 25th. Instead of weekly, though, THR reported that the 10-episode season of The Office will release all at once on September 4th.
This exciting release schedule change comes from previews of the new comedy series already receiving positive reviews. The early praise inspired Peacock, Universal Television, and the show’s producers to release all of the episodes at once.
Releasing all episodes of The Paper in early September also lets streamers watch the series before the Fall TV season. This would allow the spin-off series to get more attention and avoid competing with other new shows.
Make sure to watch all episodes of The Paper premiering on Peacock on September 4th.
